Chaldean Patriarchate Condemns the Bombings of Sri Lankan Church on Easter Sunday
The Chaldean Patriarchate condemns the terrorist crime of bombing Sri Lankan Churches and hotels that targeted innocent worshipers and tourists who intended to pray and relax, respectively.
In such a holy day of Easter, these shocking bloody attacks to a holy and public places (Churches and hotels) resulted in 290 dead people and about 500 wounded. This Suicide bombing together with the attack of Christchurch mosque in New Zealand and horrible crimes committed in Nigeria against Christians are sending a clear message to the world, which inflame fears in the hearts of people. However, extremism and terrorism allows all that without excluding any country, or nation and person.
Everyone is responsible for this abnormal phenomenon, its’ frightening challenges and consequences. Therefore, there is an urgent need for governments, religious and civil authorities to take an effective “decision” that defeat extremism and terrorism and replace it with culture of openness, recognizing others and accept them with a special focus on respect, freedom and dialogue.
