O immigrants head back. Isn’t the country as a child?
Our country is the cradle of civilizations, she embraced us and we embraced her.
Great are our villages in the Nineveh plain, Amadiyah, Zakho, and Al-Akrh, … long list. Our Villages, towns and cities are of great historical stature, and we crave her lovingly and longingly.
You are scattered on earth (even family are dispersed). And,ona strange place and alienation, what would remain from you after 100 or 200years? What would remain of your names: Isho, Yelda, Shamoun,Sarkon and Mikho…? What is the result? The result is that you will inevitably merge in your surroundings and your names, identity, nationality and language will melt! Most of you now survive on aid and we relyon oureffort?! You are talking about Great Babylon and Mighty Assyria!! And what is the benefit of talking! Isn’t it just a feeling? Frankly, you, being abroad, often make it hard on us who are holding tight inside.
We will not leave here, we will stay. True, we do not know the future, but we know who we are and what our history, identity, language, rituals and traditions and our neighbors. So we stay attached to our land and people, our principles and our rights.
O immigrants come back in order to strengthen us so that we will stay and work and cooperate in building the present and the future. If you come back we will have a place and role. Come back and we will take advantage of your skills. If you come back, we willbe the third raceand the second religion! If you don’t come back, we will remain a minority having no effect, but we nevertheless are staying and will not leave, we accept eating bread and onions in order to continue our heritage and our testimony toChristianity.
“Even if the blueness was taken away from the sky, don’t close the window before the ray of hope”
With sincere greetings
