Your Beatitude,
Greetings from the Little Flower (St. Therese of Liseux) Mission League of St. John the Baptist Church, Nedumkunnam, Kerala, India!
Today, while we observe a day of prayer for the people of civil war tormented Iraq, we the members of Mission League assure Your Beatitude that we are close to you and to the people of Iraq in our prayers. Today we celebrate the Dukhrana feast of St. Thomas, our common father in faith. Therefore, we thought of spending this day in prayer for the people of Iraq, especially for the faithful of the Chaldean Church. We know that the situation is getting worse day by day and the dread tempest of war is raging through the country. As far as we gather, more than one million people of Iraq immigrated to other neighboring countries and many thousands of people were killed. We learn it from the media, both electronic and print.
Little Flower Mission League (Cherupushpa (Little Flower) Mission League) is an organization of children which fosters and promotes the missionary spirit among the teen agers. Most of the vocations to priesthood and religious life are from this organization with a membership of more than half a million. It has units in every parish and every week, especially on Saturday we come together for prayer and study. We support all the missionaries especially from our region working in different countries with our prayer and sometimes with material collections.
When we celebrate the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, we assure Your Beatitude that we, the members of Mission League are close to our Iraqi people in prayer. May the God of Peace bless you and your people with everlasting peace and prosperity.
In the union of prayers we remain
Members of Little Flower Mission League, Nedumkunnam
